The above only applies to retail. For some reason the stuttering doesn't happen with private servers. Game is basically flawless otherwise.

highsec islands have their advantages
>many more anoms and sigs (including Event sites)
>less people = less competition for sigs
>less gankers (you'd think there'd be none, but some specifically hunt in the busier highsec islands to hunt miners who think its safer, but usually its less ganky than normal HS)

but the main drawback is logistics obviously. if your income stream relies on you getting shit back to a trade hub to sell then it adds a level of gayness you have to deal with.
your best options for dealing with this are
>manufacture modules/ammo/drones you need locally
>melt down trash loot you dont need into minerals for building shit
>scout yourself (or get a friend to scout) you thru the few jumps of lowsec/null to main HS
>scan a wormhole and pray the 1-3 jumps thru wh arent camped

Find an empty LS system and live in a station there. Don't bother making trips back and forth from HS to LS, gates are where the majority of ships get caught. If you never have to gate and there's a station in system, you're pretty much always completely safe. Get to know who's local and if they're looking for a fight or not.

Solitude isn't great after a war last year, the LS systems are too camped and there's too much traffic in them. This makes it annoying to combat sites or gas huff.

Aridia is only slightly better, LSH occasionally flies around looking to cyno in a fleet on people. They're backed by Imperium so you can't really counter-attack them, but they've got more systems to cover so they're not as good at catching people as those in Solitude who pretty much can fly straight up and down a chain.

Genesis is split between White Sky. and No Forks Allowed. It's not impossible to bully your way through them with a big fleet since I don't think either are aligned with major alliances, but in my experience most combat/gas sites get pushed in to NFA's systems near New Eden and it's too annoying to try and make it in through there. Genesis seems pretty poor on sites because of it.

Placid has FW in it (Not that bad on its own) and also has E-Uni frigate/destroyer blobs that occasionally roam around. There's also a lot of traffic out to Syndicate through it.

Derelik has Purple Helmeted Warriors camping most of deep lowsec, not that awful otherwise. TRC has recently set up shop out there as well. It's a fairly sleepy region, but not free.

Molden Hearth has a Russian corp that locks it down to run crab beacons, they're not too big but really aggressive.

One thing I had luck with was joining the Amarr militia and doing combat sites in Devoid. A lot of militiamen follow the spirit of the law and don't attack friendly militia, although they don't like them crabbing and not helping out the war effort. No idea if the other militias are like that, but if they are you can try that route.

It's no longer that they're space cops and more that they're robots that collect things for seemingly no reason. Despite it making more sense for them to be space cops (especially when they continue to call them JAILERS and shit). I've seen this kind of 'I will win at everything in my life by any means necessary' line of reasoning for cheating in video games a lot more recently. It might make sense if you are farming RMT or cheating to win online tournaments, doing it for some kind of real world gain. But the vast majority of cheaters aren't doing that so it doesn't make sense, they are just cheating in public matches for 0 personal gain day in day out. You could also be a sociopath doing it just to try to make people angry but then people try to hide it so those people aren't doing that either.

What's the fucking point? People play competitive games for entertainment, it's fun to pit your skills against others in a fair competition, it gets you thinking, activates your almonds and entertains you. That's the whole point right? But if you're cheating that all falls apart, how do you feel entertained if you aren't really competing? I imagine going down to a lonely country chess club with only one other member and just knocking over my opponents pieces, marking a win down on the board, then going back and doing it again, over and over just because nobody will stop me and I absolutely have to win, nobody else would actually agree that I won if they were watching but hey, the board says I got a point so I won, even if I didn't really play chess. It's mindless.

I feel like the people that say this kind of thing have some wires crossed in their head, like a child not being able to separate reality from fiction. The game says 'match won' on the screen and they are somehow deluding themselves into thinking they actually accomplished something. I'm trying to type this down in order to understand their perspective and I'm actually struggling to reason out anything that makes sense to me. The only other thing I can think is they are so insanely self-conscious about their skill that they are playing these games just to impress other random strangers in the internet. The game will flash up 'win' on the screen and even though they know in their own mind that it isn't true, and it's not entertaining them, other people might be fooled. Is that it? I'm just always at a loss with these people.
